It’s hard to believe that Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo collection is already eight years old. In that short time it has had a profound impact, reigniting the quest for the ever-slimmer watch, and perfectly tapping into the zeitgeist for angular, geometrically bold timepieces.
And today, we’re treated to three new executions of the brand’s more complicated Octo Finissimos.
Initially released in 2016, this version of the Minute Repeater is now given a modern makeover. The 40mm titanium case is sandblasted, with a matte blue open-worked dial and structured rubber strap. The 3.12mm caliber is visible through the open hour markers on the dial, and the strap (which surely can’t be much thinner than the case) really gives this ultra-modern high complication a dressed-down feel. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still the slimmest chiming watch on the market.
