The Baume & Mercier Hampton collection takes its design roots from the forward-looking 1920s, the era of ultra-slim pocket watches for men and jewelry watches for women that are worn as rings or necklaces. Paying homage to the Art Deco movement with an interplay of classicism and modernity, rectangular and rounded lines, the new Hampton collection comprises six novelties, with a selection of dial colors, strap options and a dual time.
The Hampton Large ref. M0A10666 is a stately, dressy piece, in a large case to accommodate a self-winding movement with grande date and dual time complication. Framed by a polished steel case, the opaline and grained slate dial provides a handsome contrast to the rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and indexes. The lines of the faceted indexes, railroad minute track and placement of the dial elements emphasize the sleek, athletic symmetry of the watch. Without crowding the dial, a second time zone is displayed at six o’clock with day/night indicator. Turning the watch over, the sapphire crystal display back reveals a decorated self-winding movement with 42 hours of power reserve.
