Charris Yadigaroglou (Head of Communications at MB&F) shows Wei Koh (Founder of Revolution and The Rake) the MB&F Legacy Machine Split Escapement EVO, which literally splits the escapement of the MB&F across the movement.
When watchmaker Stephen McDonnell was tasked with showcasing the escape wheel on the dial of the Legacy Machine Perpetual Calendar, he didn’t have space to display the whole escapement, so he built the world’s longest balance staff, which connects the split-up escapement: the escape wheel and anchor are on the bottom of the case, connected by the balance staff to the balance wheel that is located on the top of the movement and dial.
Now, the new Legacy Machine Split Escapement has a titanium EVO case, which has high-tech shock absorbers, is water resistant to 80m and has minimal bezel so that your view of the balance wheel is less obstructed.
