In 1996, Cartier the unrivalled King of Elegance, introduced the Tank Francaise, its take on the integrated bracelet design that had gradually been gaining traction since the 1970s. It took the classicism of form from its icon of icons, the Tank, and married it with a bracelet that was at once masculine in its angularity and yet the overall aesthetic evoked a feminine romanticism. The Tank Francaise was very much of its time, epitomising the sports chic sense of style.
Wei and Jeremiah take a first look at this year’s refreshed Tank Francaise collection that reimagines the iconography of the original, resulting in watches that are wholly contemporary and wear great on any wrist.
