The awe-inspiring darkness of Vantablack® returns as the canvas for H. Moser & Cie.’s new Endeavour models in rose gold.

We’ve seen the Vantablack® cloak H. Moser & Cie’s early watches, when they introduced it here, then used it here, and here. But also, here and here! Okay, so if one is no stranger to the mischievous mastery of H. Moser & Cie’s innovations, then you’d know by now that Vantablack® isn’t a color. It is instead a very deep, dark hole where all life and light cease to exist — we’re talking 99.965%.

To put it in technical terms, it’s a material composed of meshed, hollow carbon nanotubes that can be applied to surfaces via chemical vapor deposition (CDV). Now present in the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack® and Endeavour Centre Seconds Vantablack®, the ultra-black coating once again lays claim to the brand’s signature aesthetics. In other words, the absence of overt logos underscores the notion that the authenticity and craftsmanship of H. Moser & Cie are immediately recognizable.

Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack®

In this case, the red gold body of the Endeavour Tourbillon Concept Vantablack® exudes warmth, providing a stark contrast to the obsidian dial. The centerpiece, a one-minute flying tourbillon, hovers at 6 o’clock, untouched by reflections or distractions — no indices or logos to see here. Beneath the obsidian dial, the HMC 804 caliber is equipped with a dual hairspring system. By offsetting the movement of gravity on each spring, the negative impact of expansion-induced friction is mitigated.

Endeavour Centre Seconds Vantablack®

In contrast, the new Endeavour Centre Seconds adds a bit more details to the timekeeping display. Red gold indices pierce the depths of the inky dial, resulting in a delicate interplay of light and darkness in a unique yet classic aesthetic. The self-winding Manufacture caliber HMC 200 powers the time-only watch, a movement that’s been engineered in collaboration with Precision Engineering AG, a sister company of H. Moser & Cie. The movement boasts a generously sized oscillating weight fashioned from engraved gold, promising a power reserve of 3 days.
