But why did Omega choose to hold the event on the Greek island? The reason can be traced back to the very origin of its name. Let’s go back in history for a second: in 1894, Louis Brandt’s sons, Louis-Paul and César, took over the family business and under their leadership, the company underwent significant developments and innovations, including the introduction of the revolutionary Omega caliber in 1894, which marked the birth of the Omega brand.
“Omega” was chosen because of its symbolism. Being the last letter of the Greek alphabet, it represents the ultimate accomplishment, perfection and achievement. By adopting the name Omega, the brand aimed to convey its pursuit of precision and excellence in watchmaking. The 75thanniversary of the Seamaster collection marks another milestone for the brand.
