Jean-Marie Schaller strove for years to find out more about the legendary watchmaker Louis Moinet, who had very little surviving documentation about him. He acquired the Louis Moinet brand with its trademarks in 2000, and eventually discovered that Louis Moinet was the inventor of the chronograph and of high frequency watches. At Watches and Wonders 2023, Mr Schaller presented novelties like tourbillon watches with hand-painted jigsaw dials called the Savanna collection. To his chronograph collection with great visual depth called the Memoris, he added the Memoris Spirit Electrum, and he also introduced a new tourbillon-and-chronograph watch called the Impulsion. As you might know, Louis Moinet makes only one piece for each number and color of its Time To Race series. The good news for fans of this series is Mr Schaller is adding new colors and designs to this popular range of chronograph watches.
