The unique green hue of the ceramic case is a nod to the iconic Aston Martin Racing Green, which has a historical significance in the world of racing. In the early 20th century, race cars were painted colors according to the nationality of the teams before they were allowed on public roads, and British cars were painted in green. The modern interpretation of British Racing Green is darker, and the Laureato’s forest green hue reveals itself under the right lighting, giving the watch an understated yet interesting look.
Unlike earlier Aston Martin editions, this new timepiece caters to enthusiasts who prefer a cleaner aesthetic. Despite its simplicity, the latest achieves more in terms of design coherence, as the green-on-green color scheme creates a visually seamless and calming look. However, the watch is far from mundane thanks to its crosshatch patterned dial, which draws inspiration from Aston Martin’s early logo in the 1920s.
